Composites Lab Tech

Job Description

 We are building a new composites lab within our stitched product manufacturing facility where we will

research, design and test parts. We are developing components with certain properties to integrate into

our protective gear, and to become key parts in new products in the future. We are looking for a handson

person that enjoys experimenting, building, learning and being creative toward a goal. Amerisewn is a

•  Research materials and their properties including textiles, foams, resins and metals

•  Research manufacturing processes including impact of those processes on parts

•  Do hands on assembly and part building, carefully tracking materials and amounts

•  Implement and track part testing, keeping detailed project notes of each experiment

•  Keep area clean and organized

•  Order, lift, move and track all materials

•  Prepare and present regular reports of product development

•  Work within the broader factory, stepping in to take on manufacturing and assembly projects as

work-flow demands

•  This job requires some lifting and carrying of materials, a good percentage of time is on the feet,

and the lab is a flight of stairs below the main factory


•  Organized, and great communication skills in speaking and writing

•  Creative thinker, open-minded, willingness to go the extra mile

•  Need to be dependable, independent and self-motivated

•  Vocational / technical education, or similar experience

•  Familiarity and comfort with Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Pay Scale: $14 – $17 hour
